City Builder Award- June 2016

The Mayor’s City Builder Award is a civic honour created to recognize an individual, group or organization that has, through outstanding volunteerism or exemplary action, demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to making our city a better place today and for the future. This may include lifelong service, outstanding acts of kindness, inspiring charitable work, community building or other exemplary achievements.

Klaus was presented with the award on June 22nd, 2016 by Mayor Jim Watson, Rideau-Goulbourn Ward Councillor Scott Moffatt and Osgoode Ward Councillor George Darouze at the City Council meeting.

"As President since 2012, Klaus Beltzner has championed important issues for Manotick Village through the Manotick Village Community Association.

That’s more than 10% of Manotick village.

With a broad range of knowledge and experience, Klaus is vigilant and well informed on issues in the community and has always worked with Councillors and staff with a spirit of collaboration, not confrontation.Whether fostering the “Keep it to 40” lawn sign campaign, providing input on the Secondary Plan or championing transit issues, Klaus truly loves his community and it shows through everything he does." -  Mayor Jim Watson on presentation of award.
